Creek Week

CELEBRATE CREEK WEEK!

September 20-26, 2025

In the United States, the their week in September is National Pollution Prevention Week. In California, many areas, including the Russian River watershed, observe Creek Week during the fourth week of September.

During Creek Week, various organizations in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties will host clean-up events for creeks, rivers, and oceans. The Russian River watershed has over 150 creeks that are vital for water supply, wildlife, flood management, and recreation. However, accumulated trash and debris threaten water quality, wildlife, and can even impact recreation and flood capacity.

Creek Week provides an excellent chance to engage with your community and participate in environmental efforts to protect our local creeks.
